FOR PARENTS, CAREGIVERS & EDUCATORS

Notes for grown-ups

Ms. Jana is a free place for kids to practice speech sounds through play: a fun, easy way to do speech homework or get a little extra practice at home. Please read these notes before your child uses the site.

Educational use only

The games, stories, and activities on msjana.com and mrsjana.com are designed for educational enrichment, practice, and play. They are intended to support language exploration and do not constitute a formal speech-language pathology evaluation, diagnosis, or clinical treatment.

About Ms. Jana

Ms. Jana is a speech-language pathologist with a big heart for helping kids find their voices. Nothing makes her happier than seeing a child’s face light up when a tricky sound finally clicks, and she believes every child deserves to feel proud of how they speak.

She knows that real progress happens with lots of practice between sessions, and that practice works best when it feels like play. So she created this site on her own time, as a personal project, to make speech practice fun and easy for families everywhere.

This site is independent. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any school, school district, or employer, and its content reflects Ms. Jana’s own views. No speech-language services are provided through this site, and it is not a way to request an evaluation, therapy, or clinical advice.

If your child receives speech services at school, this site is optional extra practice. It does not replace, change, or report to those services. Please contact your child’s school team about their speech goals and progress.

Not a substitute for professional care

Nothing on this site is medical, clinical, or professional advice, and using it does not create a therapist–client relationship. Activities here do not replace services in an IEP, IFSP, or therapy plan.

If you have questions or concerns about your child’s speech, language, hearing, or development, please talk with a licensed speech-language pathologist, your pediatrician, or another qualified professional.

Please play together

This site is made for children to use with a parent, caregiver, or educator nearby. Please supervise your child, keep sessions short, take breaks, and stop if your child seems frustrated, tired, or uncomfortable. Practice should always feel like play.

The microphone

Some activities ask to use the microphone so a child can hear themselves. Your browser asks for permission first, and you can say no and still use the rest of the site.

Recordings stay in the browser on your device so your child can play them back. They are not uploaded, and they are not saved after you move on. Microphone activities do not score or judge pronunciation.

Privacy

There are no accounts. We don’t ask for a child’s name, age, email, or other personal details, and please don’t enter any.

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can make the site better. It collects things like the pages viewed, browser and device type, and approximate location. We don’t use it for advertising or ad personalization. You can block it with your browser’s privacy settings or an ad blocker, and the site will still work.

AI-made voices and pictures

The voice that reads words and stories is computer-generated with AI text-to-speech. It is not a recording of a real person. Some illustrations, including Ms. Jana’s character art, are also created with AI tools. Computer voices can occasionally sound a little different from natural speech, so please model sounds yourself too.

No guarantees

We work hard to make this site helpful and accurate, but it is provided “as is.” We can’t promise particular results, that every word or picture is perfect, or that the site will always be available or error-free. You decide whether these activities are right for your child, and you use the site at your own discretion.
